Wexford Bus is honoured to have been awarded ‘Coach Operator of the Year 2020 -Commuter’ when bus and coach operators from across Ireland were brought together for the 2020 Fleet Bus & Coach Awards last week. The national awards celebrate and honour best practice in the sector.
This award acknowledges the unique service that Wexford Bus provides to its commuters such as the dedicated seat reservation system for daily commuters which enables them to book a seat each day for the service they will be travelling on so they can be sure to arrive on time for work or college.
Commenting on the win, Brendan Crowley, Managing Director, Wexford Bus said “We are very proud of this award, our team work continually to offer a safe, reliable and seamless service and this award is a testament to that.” He continued “We will carry in excess of 1 million passengers this year, a large proportion of whom commute daily, so this award is very fitting. We have introduced many initiatives to enhance the experience for commuters and we are delighted that these have been acknowledged among such tough competition.”
Wexford Bus employs a team of over 70 people in Wexford and was among 12 bus and coach operators who took to the stage to receive their trophies. Wexford Bus operate an extensive network of national and local licensed scheduled services and also provide for school transport, private hire and contracted services.
With a fleet of 45 buses and coaches this growing business is best known for operating between Wexford and Dublin City & Airport (Route 740). Wexford Bus operates 7 licensed services and connects most of the major towns in south east operating between Wexford and Waterford (Route 340), Carlow (Route 376) and all the major towns in Co. Wexford. A more recent addition is Route 740A that operates between Arklow, Wicklow Town, Rathnew and Dublin City and Airport up to 18 times daily. Wexford Bus is Certified ISO 9001:2015 and is set to carry in excess of 1 million passengers in 2019.
