No doubt you’ve heard of Operation transformation, now Wexford Bus is introducing “Operation Transportation” to the people of Wexford.

The recently revised Wexford Bus Connect Service is offering excellent new lower fares all over Wexford town and is an efficient and sustainable alternative to driving and parking.  Wexford Bus is now inviting the people of Wexford town join the Operation Transportation movement, leave their cars at home and try the bus for themselves.

With Leap Cards, Adults can travel across town on the bus for only €1.80 per journey and children for only 90 cent.  Wexford Bus has developed and refined the routes, schedules and fares with workers, school goers and shoppers in mind.  Services operate every 30 minutes from 07.15 between Clonard, the town centre, Whiterock and Drinagh and weekly tickets are available for regular passengers.  Weekly ticket holders can benefit from unlimited travel within the town for only €7.50 for children or €15 for adults per week with a Leap Card.

Wexford Bus is challenging the people of Wexford to leave their cars at home and switch to the bus for great savings “We have always had excellent support from the people of Wexford town for our Wexford to Dublin City & Airport service.   People have grown to see the benefits of travelling by bus, eliminating fuel and parking costs and the hassles that can be involved with driving.  We are now asking the people of Wexford Town to consider using the bus on shorter trips around town too.  We have significantly altered and updated the service and are very proud that we can offer such an extensive service connecting all industrial, commercial and residential neighbourhoods within the outer ring road.  Now the challenge is to get the people to try this bus service. I don’t think that people realise how easy and convenient it is to use our services and how much money can be saved each week.” Commented Brendan Crowley, Managing Director, Wexford Bus.

The Wexford Chamber is an advocate of the new Wexford Bus Connect Service and their initiatives “The community and businesses of Wexford have a lot to benefit from the Wexford Bus Connect service.  The amenities, businesses and retail outlets in Wexford are spread over a wide area so having a regular and affordable bus service between these is a huge benefit to the entire community.  Parking can be an obstacle for businesses in town from both a staff and customer perspective so an alternative should be warmly welcomed.  This bus service is another selling point for the town and brings us inline with many of our European counterparts.  We are behind Wexford Bus’ Operation Transportation and are also encouraging the people of Wexford to leave their cars at home and take the Bus!” explains Madeleine Quirke, Chief Executive Officer, Wexford Chamber.
