Information Sheet Bus Fleet Electrification Customer Survey
Thank you for considering participating in this research project. The purpose of this document is to explain to you what the work is about and what your participation would involve, to enable you to make an informed choice.
The purpose of this study is to examine the attitude of customers to the electrification of the town bus fleet. The research will examine awareness, attitudes and behaviours related to climate change and the use of local public transport. Should you choose to participate, you will be asked to complete a questionnaire which will include items relating to your perceptions of climate change and climate action and your intentions around travel behaviours.
Participation in this study is completely voluntary. You must be over 18 to participate in this survey.
There is no obligation to participate, and should you choose to do so you can refuse to answer specific questions, or decide to withdraw from the study prior to completing the survey. All information you provide will be confidential and your anonymity will be protected throughout the study. IP addresses will not be collected at any point, meaning the data you provide cannot be traced back to you. Anonymized, non-sensitive data gathered will be stored on the UCC-supplied OneDrive for Business through UCC Office 365. Personal versions of OneDrive and G-Suite will not be used to store research data. All data will be deleted after the ten-year storage period.
You maintain the right to withdraw from the study at any stage up to the point of data submission. At this point, your data will be collated with that of other participants and can no longer be retracted.
The anonymous data will be stored using secure network file storage supported by University College Cork. The data will be stored for a minimum of 10 years. The information you provide may contribute to research publications and or conference presentations.
We do not anticipate any negative outcomes from participating in this study.
This survey has been reviewed for ethical approval by the project supervisor at Maynooth University.
