TRAINING OPPORTUNITY FOR 2 APPRENTICE HGV MECHANICS
(2 full time positions)

Wexford Bus is expanding and our team is growing.  We currently operate up to 128 scheduled daily services across our network of routes and have grown the size of our team and the number of services every year for past 10 years. We have a full time training opportunity for 2 apprentice HGV mechanics to join the growing Wexford Bus team.

Based at our maintenance facility at Drinagh, the successful candidates will undergo a comprehensive educational programme to qualify as a HGV Mechanic. They will gain excellent on the job training on our fleet of modern coaches and buses and will be facilitated and supported throughout the programme during all of the college based modules.

These apprenticeship positions are open to both female and male candidates. Our apprentices are trained to the highest possible technical standards and acquire, amongst many other skills, the ability to maintain the various systems associated with modern public service vehicles.

Candidates should be at least 17 years old. A full clean driving licence would be an advantage.

TICKET INSPECTOR & AUDITOR
(part time position)

Wexford Bus is expanding and our team is growing.  We currently operate up to 128 scheduled daily services across our network of routes and have grown the size of our team and the number of services every year for past 10 years. We have a part time position for a Ticket Inspector and Auditor to join the growing Wexford Bus team.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Conducting on board quality audits to ensure compliance with Wexford Bus Operational Procedures, including those pertaining to passenger and employee Health & Safety and our policies and procedures devised to ensure the highest standards of quality service is being delivered at all times.
  • Ensuring that all passengers are issued with and possess a valid ticket for the entire duration of their journey and that each passenger has paid the correct fare for all journeys travelled;
  • Checking the validity of  social welfare travel passes and liaise with the Department of Social Protection (Free Travel Verification Section)
  • Prepare and submit compliance reports to the Quality & Audit Manager.

Wexford Bus operates a broad range of service on a 24/7 basis. Therefore in order to deliver an effective inspection programme the successful candidates will be required to work flexible hours to ensure that all services are audited as and when required.  Inspectors may be required to work alone or as part of an audit team.
