New service begins between Wicklow and Greystones Vaccination Centre

Following requests from the public, a new bus service connecting the people of Wicklow to the vaccination centre at the Shoreline Leisure Centre, Charlesland, Greystones is commencing on June 1st 2021.

Wexford Bus is operating 4 daily services, Monday to Saturday, to facilitate people travelling to the vaccination centre.  The first bus leaves from the Grand Hotel in Wicklow at 08:30 and the last service leaves from the bus stop outside the Shoreline Vaccination Centre at 16:00.  This service travels via Wicklow, Rathnew and Ashford.  The timetable is designed so that passengers travelling from Gorey or Arklow on the  740A Route (Gorey, Arklow to Dublin) can transfer in Wicklow onto the new service.

We are very happy to be in a position to commence this new service between Wicklow and Greystones to enable people travel to the vaccination centre.  We are already bringing passengers to and from the vaccination centres in Enniscorthy, Carlow and Waterford on our existing network of services.  As we a provide regular services between Wicklow, Rathnew and Dublin we were contacted by many of our customers and public representatives asking if we operate to the vaccination centre in Greystones.  We hope that this new service will also suit people from Gorey and Arklow as the timetable allows for passengers to transfer in Wicklow.’ explained Brendan Crowley, Managing Director, Wexford Bus.  ‘As a public transport provider, Wexford Bus has a key role to play in developing sustainable transport throughout the region. One element of that is to widen access to key locations and services for customers. As always, our customer’s needs are at the heart of our expanded service offerings and we look forward to welcoming new passengers on board this sustainability journey with us.’

With public transport still operating at 50% capacity, passengers are advised to book in advance.  The bus service will cost €5 single or €9 return.
