Wexford Bus Awarded Best Safety Practice Award 2018 at Fleet Bus & Coach Awards

Bus and coach operators from across Ireland were brought together for the 2018 Fleet Bus & Coach Awards on Thursday 16 November to celebrate and honour best practice in the sector.   Wexford Bus is honoured to have been awarded the Best Safety Practice Award 2018.

“We are delighted to have received this award. Safety is at the core of everything we do so to have our safety practice acknowledged is hugely important to all of the team at Wexford Bus.” Commented Lorene Crowley, Commercial Director, Wexford Bus.

“Wexford Bus is continually looking at ways to improve every element of our service, and safety is a key part of that.  For example in 2016, as part of our focus on safety, we introduced a smart driver behaviour technology which encourages steadier, safer driving and rates the behaviour of all drivers on each and every service.  With the hard work and commitment of all the drivers we are surpassing our target scores. We also put all of our buses and coaches through a very thorough preventative maintenance programme resulting in a Road Safety Authority CVRT Roadworthiness rating of 97%.  I would like to thank the drivers, mechanics and support team for all of their hard work, without this we could not deliver a service where safety comes first.” Continued Lorene.

The adjudication process for these awards was undertaken by a panel of expert stakeholders within the passenger transport industry.  All applications were initially assessed and from that, a list of finalists were selected to go forward for interview.  Wexford Bus was among 12 bus and coach operators who took to the stage to receive their trophies.
